Adult Dose
Cough Indicated for temporary control of cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation 1 or 2 tablets every 12 hours and not more than 4 tablets daily.

Cough Indicated for temporary control of cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation Tablet >12 years 1-2 tablets q12hr; not to exceed 4 tablets/24 hours Syrup 10 mL PO q4hr; not to exceed 6 doses/24 hr

Contraindication
Both drugs contraindicated in documented hypersensitivity to either drug or components Not for persistent cough associated with chronic bronchitis, smoking, asthma, or accompanied with excessive secretions

Mode of Action
Guaifenesin (Cough expectorant) increases respiratory tract fluid secretions and helps to loosen phlegm and bronchial secretions. Dextromethorphan is a Cough suppressant that acts centrally on the cough center in the medulla.

Precaution
Do not use for children under 12 years of age if you are now taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric or emotional conditions, or Parkinson’s disease), or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. If you do not know if your prescription drug contains an MAOI, ask a doctor or pharmacist before taking this product.
