Indication
For relief of non productive (dry) coughs, irritating cough, sore throat
Adult Dose
Oral Adult: 4 teaspoonful (20 ml) 4 times daily

Mode of Action
Citric acid is absorbed after oral administration. It is found naturally in the body and is widely distributed. It is metabolised to carbon dioxide and water in Kreb’s citric acid cycle.Forms soothing layer over mucous membrane on the throat, relieves inflammation and pain
Precaution
Patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency should not take this medicine.
Side Effect
Nausea, vomiting, headache, diarrhoea
Pregnancy Category Note
There are no or limited amount of data from the use of Citric Acid Monohydrate in Pregnant women. There is insufficient information on the excretion of Citric Acid Monohydrate and its metabolites in human milk.
